Temple Coffee Roasters, nestled in the vibrant heart of Sacramento at 1010 9th St, offers much more than your average caffeine fix. This standout coffee shop and café is a genuine haven for coffee enthusiasts who appreciate meticulously crafted brews and a variety of unique drink options carefully sourced from farm to cup. Their menu is a treasure trove of artisanal beverages like the velvety White Mocha Latte, the robust Espresso, and their much-lauded Farm to Cup Pour Overs, including standout selections like the natural Ethiopian and Lotus blend. Each sip carries nuanced notes—stone fruit, chocolate, and subtle spices—that speak volumes about the precision and care behind their roasting process.

Beyond exceptional coffee, Temple Coffee Roasters excels in their thoughtfully curated selection of fresh pastries and bakery treats. Picture biting into a moist, perfectly sweet coffee cake donut or savoring a Lemon Lavender Muffin that’s vegan, gluten-free, and bursting with floral zest. The Salted Chocolate Chip Cookie and Chocolate Chip Banana Bread offer the right balance of indulgence without being overpowering, making them ideal accompaniments alongside a creamy Vanilla Latte or the spicy-sweet Ginger Snap Latte. Though no place is without its occasional hiccups, as Ambrosia Brooks notes her unique preference for extra milk and sweetness may have been missed, the staff’s genuine effort to accommodate and the café’s charm overwhelmingly overshadow such moments. The blend of carefully roasted coffee, delectable pastries, and that undeniable Temple spirit creates an authentic local gem worth discovering time and again.

For Sacramento locals and visitors alike, Temple Coffee Roasters offers a deliciously mindful coffee experience—one where every cup tells a story and every visit feels like a warm, revitalizing embrace.

I'm a big fan of Temple Coffee. I like coffees with stone fruit notes and this is one of my favorite rosters. I had the Lotus blend pour over, quite tasty black and as you can see I prefer it with cream. The coffee cake donut was moist and the frosting was not too sweet.

The natural ethiopian pour over was tasty. It comes in a pouring carafe, which I've never had for coffee before. Free tasting of their staff pick Columbian pour over. Staff was super friendly. They had lots of options for tea, so the wife was happy too!

This is one of the smaller Temple locations, but it’s exactly what you’d expect if you’ve been to any of the others. Temple is super consistent in both their coffee and their staff. The drinks are solid, not amazing, but definitely better than average. The vibe here matches the rest of their cafes. Friendly but with that slightly condescending “we take our coffee very seriously” attitude. It’s not rude, just very on-brand for Temple. Not really my style, but many people who think they are into coffee love it. The space is clean, minimal, and a nice place to hang out for a bit. The pastry selection was a little limited compared to their larger locations. On the exterior it’s a bit more downtown than Midtown, so it’s not the most scenic spot, but it works. Overall, it’s a good stop for a consistently well made coffee and a calm atmosphere. Just don’t expect much warmth or conversation with your cappuccino.

It's solidly good. However, I did ask for a coffee that was sweeter and had a lot of milk. He forgot to put in my milk, and I dont even know if he put the syrup in there. Had to add my own half and half and syrup to make it taste okay, and it still was so strong. I like my coffee milky white but still really strong. Wierd ik. Idc. Anyways. Beautiful little gem. Went in like as soon as they opened. The muffin I got was weird and gross, but I did order the weirdest thing on the menu, the lemon lavender muffin. My love, however, ate their pastry right up and loved the coffee. So it was good considered.

The coffee the best, excellent actually. The baked goods not so good however. It’s fresh but not great. They import from a local bakery daily. Be prepared for a cold croissant, nothing to heat it up with. A cinnamon roll with raisins, such a weird combination. Banana bread with chocolate chips, another weird combo. The decor and design is excellent, gives a warm feeling with wood and earth tones, also the flooring is nice. Clean place also. I would continue to visit this place for the excellent coffee and atmosphere but definitely skip the pastries

I found myself in downtown Sacramento on a very warm day and wanted a coffee and snack while on break from my seminar. This location is on a quiet side street and not too easy to see unless you are looking for it. The inside is an odd juxtaposition to other shops with its ultra modern look and concrete decor. However, the coffee and food are great and perfect for a quick working lunch. I like the large table for sharing and the entire place is very elegant and well designed. I like thoughtful design and Temple Coffee impressed me. Hope you like it too. Michael Delehanty Compass Real Estate

The atmosphere walking in was inviting and warm. The girl behind the counter had exceptional customer service. I told her to surprise me, and she asked me a few questions and nailed the coffee she made for me. Fantastic in house roasted beans and super fresh. All around 6 out of 5 stars. Definitely recommend for other people. The price wasn't too bad. It's a little more expensive than starbucks, but the quality and freshness are second to none!
